1969

AGS, a specialist in the mining, processing and marketing of clay-based minerals, is formed from the merger of ARGIREC, GRANGER and SOGDAR. The combined experience of these three family companies, whose activity dates back to the beginning of the last century, is unique. The consolidation of their potential will enable them to meet the challenges of the end of the new millenium.

1980

AGS and BMP (Blancs Minéraux de Paris) form a holding company : AGS-BMP.

1987

IMETAL (now IMERYS) forms a partnership with AGS-BMP, taking a shareholding and bringing in its industrial activity for the production of chamottes.

2000

AGS becomes independant once again and tranfers its carbonates activity to IMERYS.

SOKA (Société Kaolinière Armoricaine) takes a shareholding in AGS, which capital is now split principally between the family shareholders of AGS and SOKA.

2004

SOKA sells its sharholding to AGS, which becomes independant once again.

2006

AGS becomes a subsidiary of Imerys group within the Ceramics, Refractories, Abrasives & Filtration business group.

2008

Setting up of Chamottes Europe BU (inside Minerals for Ceramics, Refractories, Abrasives & Foundry business group) in January 2008, comprised of the three business units AGS, Vatutinsky Kombinat Vognetryviv (controlled since July 2007 by Imerys, through its subsidiary AGS which owns 86% of the share capital of VKV) and Molochite (Parkandillick Calciner - UK)
