At AGS, our activity is aimed at exploring kaolinic clays in all their forms and for all their applications. Within this context, rising energy costs are set to become a lasting trend that requires us to redirect our priorities.

The growth of the company enables us to offer high added value products and services, such as:

  • Refractory chamottes: to widen our product line by offering a premium-quality range of high alumina content material
  • Sanitary ceramic chamottes: to provide the best solution for each and every customer (suitable grading curves, chemical composition, etc.)
  • Metakaolins and calcined clays: our shareholder Imerys has undeniable technical experience in this field. Moreover, there is a large potential market in concrete and high performance cements, particularly to replace silica fumes.
In the context of an enlarged Europe , our financial and commercial contribution to the Vatoutine ( Ukraine ) industrial complex complements our business in a judicious way, both geographically and in terms of product range. The Vatoutine plant produces 200,000 tons of chamotte (38 to 42 % alumina content) for the refractory market on an annual basis.

AGS is now a subsidiary of Imerys, a French Group with a European culture, and a world leader in industrial minerals.

The quality of the clay reserves of the Charentes Basin is a key factor in this success.
